CLERMONT — With the Fourth of July comes the tough decision of what city’s fireworks show to attend. But in Clermont, there is one spot more than 200 feet above ground level where multiple shows could potentially be viewed all at once.

For possibly the first time in its 63-year history, the Citrus Tower’s observation deck will be open from 7:30 to 11 p.m. on July 4 for just that reason.

Scott Homan, who operates the tower with his wife, Heather, said he is excited about the opportunity, both for himself and for the community.

He said despite having grown up around the tower, owned by his dad, Greg, he’s never celebrated the holiday from atop.

“I’ve seen fireworks from the top, but only because I have been up there a couple of times when the Disney fireworks have been going, but never on the Fourth of July, New Year’s Eve or anything like that,” Homan said.
